National PISA Center
PISA is implemented in Hungary by the Department of Assessment and Evaluation at the Educational Authority (formerly known as the The Center for Evaluation Studies). The Department implements national and international comparative student assessment studies in the field of Reading, Mathematics, Science and IT.
The Department has been running the national aspects of international studies such as the PIRLS and TIMSS studies.
The Department has created and has been responsible for reporting the results of the annual national Assessment of Basic Competencies (ABC) in Reading and Mathematics, an extraordinary project that assesses the entire student population in grades 6, 8 and 10.
Prior to the National ABC Study, the Department implemented the now defunct national Monitor studies, that assessed the changes in student performance every other year in Reading, Maths and Science between 1995 and 2005.
